PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

The Café con Leche School is located in Santo Domingo Oeste (West), in El Café neighborhood, an urban-marginal community with high population density and extreme poverty. It was here that this project was born 18 years ago by a young education student, named Marisol who wanted to give something to this community after seeing so many illiterate children. Marisol began the project by using her free time to teach these children how to read; today that group of 25 children has reached to be approximately 520 girls and boys.read more

Our Mission

Café con Leche school mission is to offer an integral basic education serving the main human dimensions: physical, intellectual and spiritual. It also wants to provide an education committed to the formation of people with a strong personal and social identity. Persons who learn to organize their life in freedom, getting together with others and growing in the responsability to work individually and as a community. Café con Leche school has the mission to shape a new generation of men and women, people with the type of knowledge and values that favor the personal and collective growth , from a dynamic or love, respect and reciprocity.

Our Vision

The Foundation projects itself as a dynamic and active organism that looks for the cooperation of many actors in the civil and social areas, and that it is recognized by its vocation towards the search for the understanding, respect, and appreciation among all involved so that in harmony each person might responsibly play her /his role thus guaranteeing a certain social equity, favoring first those who have fewer opportunities, but giving the opportunity to grow to each and everyone involved in the process.
